Restoring a backup for the Full account or for a specific website helps bring back lost or damaged data quickly. If your website crashes or files are accidentally deleted, you can restore it using JetBackup. This ensures your site runs smoothly again without needing to rebuild everything from scratch.

1: Login to cPanel - by logging into your BoostedHost account.

2: Locate the Files Section - Find the "JetBackup 5" Tab in the Files Section and click to open it.

3: Locate the "Restore & Download" - Open JetBackup and go to the Restore & Download page. Here, you will find multiple tabs with available backups, such as Full Account, Cron Jobs, Home Directory, Databases, etc.

4: Restore the Full Account Backup - To restore a full account backup from a specific date, click on the desired backup and then click the Restore button at the bottom of the page.

Your backup will begin restoring instantly. The restoration time depends on the size of the backup. Since this is a full account backup, it may take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the number of files stored in the selected backup.

Restore the specific Website

Restoring only a specific website from your account is more complex than a full account restoration. You need to be very careful during this process, which is why BoostedHost is providing this detailed guide. Let’s begin.

1: Select the Home Directory - To restore a specific website backup from a particular date, go to the Home Directory tab, select the desired backup date, and click on the "Change File Selection" button within the backup.

2: Select Desired Root Folder - A new pop-up window will appear displaying all files and folders from the selected backup. Choose your website's root directory and click the "Select Files" button.

3: Restore the Root Directory - Once you have successfully selected the required root directory, click the Restore button at the bottom of the page and wait for the restoration process to complete.

4: Find the Database - After successfully restoring the root directory, locate the file that contains database details. For example, in a WordPress website, find the wp-config.php file and open it to view the associated database name and username.

5: Restore the Database - After identifying the database name, copy it and go to the "Restore & Download" section. Click on the Databases tab and enter the copied database name in the search bar.

No matter how many databases appear in the results, select all of them. Choose the same backup date as the Home Directory you restored earlier. Then, click the Restore button at the bottom of the page to restore the database.

After successfully restoring the database, the final step is to restore the Database User.

6: Copy Database User - Reopen the wp-config.php file (or any other database configuration file) from the restored home/root folder. Locate and copy the database username.

7: Restore the Database User - After identifying the database username, go back to the "Restore & Download" section and click on the Database Users tab. Enter the copied database username in the search bar.

No matter how many database Username appear in the results, select all of them. Again, select the same backup date as the Home Directory you restored earlier. Finally, click the Restore button at the bottom of the page to restore the Database Username.

8: Congratulation! - Congratulation for the successfully restoring the database Username, the specific website restoration has been completed.

This is the only method to restore the specific website to restore if you have multiple websites. Please perform all the guided steps very carefully.
