How to find the Mail Client configuration settings (Hostname, Username, Password, and Ports)

Usage of Mail Client configuration setting

This guide explains how to locate your email settings using cPanel and Webmail. These details help you set up your email account on desktop or mobile devices. Learn how to configure IMAP for incoming emails and SMTP for outgoing emails to stay connected easily.

Follow these Steps to find your email setting:

1: Login to cPanel - Access your cPanel account by logging into your BoostedHost account.

2: Email Accounts - Go to the Email Section and click on the tab "Email Accounts"

3: Locate the Email - On the Email Accounts page, locate the email you wants to get the Mail Client Setting for, and click on the tab "Connect Devices". Note: In this guide we are using [email protected]

4: Mail Client Manual Settings - On the Mail Client Manual Setting page please find the Mail Client Manual Setting detailed box. In this guide we are using "Secure SSL/TLS Settings (Recommended)".

You can also view the Non-SSL/TLS settings by clicking the 'Show Non-SSL/TLS Settings' dropdown tab. Get Mail Client configuration setting in your personal Email: You can also send these setting to your personal email address by using the section "Email Instructions"

5: Key Points: 1: Username: Your email address is the Username, In our guide the email address is [email protected] 2: Password: You already set the password while creating the email address. We suggest to save it somewhere safe to use it later, because in the cPanel you cannot retrieve the current password, However, you can always reset the Email password. 3: Hostname: Host name will be the incoming server or the Outgoing server address. In our guide the hostname is playground.boostedhost.com

4: Ports: Incoming server ports are called IMAP, and POP3. Outgoing server port is called SMTP.

Special Note: After creating any official webmail, the Mail Client Configuration setting Email automatically delivered in the Inbox.

How to get Mail Client Configuration setting from Webmail login.

In case of you don't have cPanel access and only have the webmail access then it is also possible to get the Mail Client Configuration setting from webmail.

Here is the detail guide to get the Mail setting from Webmail:

Login to the webmail with the user email and password.

  • Once logged in, go to the top of the Webmail page. From the top right corner, click on your email address dropdown and select "Configure Mail Client."

  • While staying on the Webmail page, the Configure Mail Client option is also available under the "Other Webmail Features" section at the bottom.

Clicking on 'Configure Mail Client' will open the same Mail Client Manual Settings page, displaying all the configuration details mentioned earlier.
